DescriptionThis project is funded by EPSRC grant on 'Building Global Engagement in Research'. It was carried out by Dr. Xibo Yuan in Bristol University and Prof. Frede Blaabjerg in Aalborg University, Denmark. The collaborated research looks into the next-generation high power converters for wind power conversion of large wind turbines, e.g. 10MW. Several potential converter topologies have been identified and further analysis on converter thermal modelling and reliability have been carried out.
