Dr. Eleonora Pantano took part in the joint track event organized by the British Academy of Management (BAM) during the annual conference (3rd of September 2020). The event aim was to engage conference audience with new reflections on organisation’s ability to innovate may be key to shaping an effective response to the emerging consumer environment as might also the ability to positively or more darkly use technology to make organisations and their offerings distinctive and different. With this in mind, BAM organized one hour panel discussion with speakers drawn from the BAM SIG network, will address and discuss Dr Keith Glanfield, (Coventry University) Mr Michael Worledge (Harris Interactive), Dr Eleonora Pantano (University of Bristol), Professor Thanos Papadopoulos (University of Kent) and Dr Nick Marshall (University of Brighton). The event run via the conference online platform and the registration was compulsory.In particular, Eleonora was in charge of discussing about retailers’ response towards CODI19, with emphasis on how much the outbreak changed retailing, the consequences for high streets, retailers strategies to cope with the changes. Moreover, she engaged with audience’s questions related to the possible acceleration in retail business models that re-conceptualize shops are places for repair/share/re-use of goods, new consumers’ experience and the role of retailers in local economies.
