BGER Synthetic enzyme-polymer surfactant constructs for membrane-bound organophosphate degradation

Funding was requested to initiate a new international collaboration with Dr. Jackson of the School of Chemistry, Australian National University (ANU). Dr. Jackson is a world expert on the synthesis and characterisation of bacterial phosphotriesterases and the ANU is an internationally renowned research institution which placed 38th in the 2011-2012 The pilot programme involved sending James Armstrong, who is a PhD student at the Bristol Centre for Functional Nanomaterials (BCFN) Doctoral Training Centre (DTC), to work in Dr. Jackson Laboratory for a period of three weeks.
