Description
Eleonora Pantano took part in the event organized by the WestBIC within the CAST network (a 3 year EU funded project aiming at developing a network of incubators & accelerators, start-ups, SMEs and financiers to form a European community committed to promoting knowledge-sharing, the use of technology and collaboration across borders for sustainable tourism) on the 8th of June 2021. The event consisted of a round table discussion bringing together data providers, start-ups and researchers and the EU perspective to identify and highlight:
• Added value data can bring
• Different modes of engaging with data
• Datasets for a more sustainable tourism
• Supports start-ups & SMEs need to engage more with datasets and platforms.
Specifically, Eleonora Pantano shared some recent results of the research she is leading in the application of data analytics machine learning and AI in tourism. She further proposed some of the most innovative examples of the application of data science in tourism.
