Description
Chizoba Imoka has been invited to contribute to the decolonial and pluriversal conversation at FACE 2019 about Pan-African knowledges.FACE is a Pan-African conference dedicated to encouraging research, enterprise and innovation on Pan-African issues. The conference aims to take advantage of the various Pan-African research interests within the university of Bristol and encourage transdisciplinary research and networking among staff, students and the wider community. It is also an avenue to showcase this research to students to give them an idea of what they could do within academia. We hope to encourage community involvement in research. Researchers are invited to discuss the content of their research, the practicalities of researching Africa-related issues, how we go about identifying and preserving African knowledges as well as pedagogical issues such as how to incorporate this research into university curricula. The conference aims to raise interest for potential researchers and as well as provide a platform for researchers to network with other researchers with similar research interests. One reason why we focus on research is to encourage black students to do research degrees and enter into academia or similar research occupations.
