BGER Sustainable iron-based catalysts in carbon-carbon bond-formation (Kyoto)
Paul Cogswell, a PhD student in the Bedford Group, spent just over 1 month (3rd Feb – 9th March) in the laboratory of Prof. Masaharu Nakamura in the Research Center for Elements Science, Institute for Chemical Research at the University of Kyoto. Paul’s expertise in mechanistic organoiron chemistry was exploited in probing the likely active species in carbon-carbon bond-forming processes using some of Nakamura’s state-of-the-art iron catalysts.
