Co-organised by Glen Ncube (Bristol) and Perseverence Madhuku (Bayreuth), the panel explored discourses and concepts of illness, attending to their construction and reconfiguration in African studies. It included scholars (including graduate students) interested in showcasing how dominant typologies of African sickness have been challenged and revised, only to re-emerge in different guises and contexts.
