Description

Rights and discrimination of TCNs in the EU: perspectives from South America

This Expert Seminar aims at analysing and clarifying the determinants and challenges that make up attractive labour immigration policies in different international settings with the view to provide academic input for informed policy making in the next phases of European immigration policies. The event aims at bringing together European Commission officials and a selection of key academics from different disciplines who will present their research findings in relation to the following four thematic challenges: first, rights and discrimination; second, qualifications and skills; third, matching demand and supply; and fourth, the way forward in the EU – a post-Stockholm Programme strategy. The Expert Seminar is a one-day closed-door (by invitation only) event mainly addressed to European Commission services. It falls within the framework of NEUJOBS, a research project financed by the European Commission, under the 7th Framework Programme and coordinated by CEPS.
