This is an International Strategic Fund activity, which supports me to build relationships with two research groups in Australia, I will visit and hold workshops at: the QUT Design Lab and the Emerging Technologies Research Lab at Monash. I will also meet informally with colleagues in Sydney, including members of the 'More-than-Human Wellbeing' exhibition team. These research groups are leaders in two areas: (1) The first is participatory and creative methods for exploring health, including arts-based research, ‘design thinking’, sensory ethnography, and more; (2) The second is think about a ‘more-than-human’ approach to health in which buildings, technologies, natural elements, non-human agents and more are part of ‘health’ and wellbeing. All groups work on more-than-human health in these creative ways, which aligns with some of my own research interests (for example in my UKRI FLF ‘Sensing Spaces of Healthcare’, a Wellcome Trust ‘Senses’ network, and a ‘Medical and Environmental Humanities’ network). I will visit the three cities to build relationships and explore future opportunities for collaboration.
