Graphic Storytelling Workshop on HIV/AIDS with MK Czerwiec

Description

(co-organised with Andrew Blades) MK Czerwiec, author of Taking Turns (2017), worked as a nurse in the first dedicated AIDS unit in the Midwest at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and is now Artist in Residence at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. In this workshop, she helped participants explore how drawing and comic-making can be a rich and enjoyable part of their self care plan. This workshop was generously funded by a United States Embassy/ British Association for American Studies Small Grant and the School of Humanities Impact Fund, University of Bristol.
