BGER Aftershock Seismic Risk Assessment (UK)
In November 2012 Professor Hiroshi Kawase (Earthquake Engineering, Seismology) visited Bristol. We have agreed to collaborate on aftershock seismic risk assessment as it is important in light of Christchurch and Tohoku earthquakes. Specifically, we will develop a framework to assess aftershock risk probabilistically by combining expertise from both sides (aftershock modelling by KG while structural modelling by HK). Mr. Reza Salami will conduct such development and analyses as part of his Ph.D. project.
