Workshop Lead: Health promotion and the social gradient: the free swimming initiative for children and young people in Bristol Public health initiatives tend to be more readily adopted by people in higher socio-economic groups. This study provides an empirical illustration of the importance of assessing the impact of public health initiatives across the social gradient.
