Masaryk University Algebra Seminar talk: Relative consistency results for Vopenka's Principle
Abstract: Whilst Vopenka's Principle has received a lot of attention from the category theory community, it has been for the most part overlooked by the set theory community. In particular, many basic relative consistency results for Vopenka's principle were not known until recently: that is, statements of the form "if Vopenka's Principle is consistent, then Vopenaka's Principle along with (some other statement) is consistent". I will show how we can obtain such relative consistency results, for values of (some other statement) including the Generalised Continuum Hypothesis, and Global Choice in the definable classes setting.
