Description

Developing RMIT-Bristol research partnerships in Nanomaterials.
RMIT has research strengths in reaction engineering, nanomaterials and catalysis which are complementary to many of the research activities in Bristol. Following on from a successful initial collaboration funded by the International Strategiv Fund (ISF) in 2018 on “Testing of novel hierarchical metal-organic frameworks for innovative catalyst technologies”, we are looking to develop this research into a larger program of work, involving new academic collaborators from both the RMIT side (Prof Karen Wilson, Prof of Catalysis) and on the Bristol side (through the Bristol Centre for Functional Nanomaterials).
This visit was both a scoping visit and for information exchange, to identify wider research complementarities and capabilities and allow projects on energy materials, nanomaterials synthesis and characterisation and catalysis to be be discussed and developed.
To capitalise on the research links enabled by the ISF, RMIT have offered to provide funding for a number of PhD studentships in order to establish mechanisms for collaborative research and training between academics in Bristol and RMIT.
