Collaborative research on the dynamic behaviour of the Aira caldera and Sakurajima volcano. Joint research develops new tools to assess ongoing ground deformation since the last large eruption of Sakurajima volcano in 1914. Research for the first time integrates findings from seismology, geodesy and petrology in finite-element thermomechanical models.
