My paper was entitled 'Victor Hugo's Men: Eros, Expulsion, Exile' and argued for a more gender-focused discussion of Hugo's writing by analysing the psychosexual elements of his sixth novel 'Les Travailleurs de la mer' and his poem 'La Satyre', both composed during his exile period.
