The Emotional World of Greek Polytheism

This was a talk and discussion for people working in clinical psychotherapy (psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, art therapists, etc.). In order to motivate the discussion, I began by briefly summarizing several current perspectives, according to which emotional experience is not 'all in the head' or even all in the body, but rather distributed across relationships and objects. I then briefly summarized one contemporary approach to Greek gods, focusing on its emotional ramifications, briefly distinguishing this perspective from the traditional Jungian one. Finally, we had a very lively discussion.
