Activity: Visiting an external institution types › Visiting an external academic institution
The work will include the travel of one of the Bristol co-investigators to Malaysia to establish links and to explore the available data. The visit will also include the Bristol researcher exploring with local partners the possibility of linking routinely collected hospital/clinic data to the existing cohort using national identity card numbers. This will strengthen this dataset to answer a variety of health questions. During the visit to Malaysia, the Bristol researchers will also visit schools included in the cohort data to further understand the context from which the data has emerged. The researcher from Bristol will give a talk at the Dept of Social Preventive Medicine to share their research related to mental health. The Malaysian partner will also visit the UK to give a talk to the Academic Centre of Mental Health about the data source and look for possible further collaborations outside of the current Bristol investigators. This will ensure that both Bristol and the Malaysian partner will have opportunities for network development.
