Under the British Council’s Researcher Links scheme offered within the Newton Fund, Loughborough University and the University of Malaya will be holding an international workshop on Developing an agenda for fintech research in emerging economies. The workshop will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 31st October to 2nd November 2017. The workshop is being led by Prof M. N. Ravishankar, School of Business & Economics, Loughborough University and will have contributions from other leading UK researchers. We are now inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK to apply to attend this workshop. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the Newton Researcher Links programme. The Researcher Links application form must be completed and sent to R.Cufflin@lboro.ac.uk before the deadline of 20th August 2017.
The workshop will provide a unique opportunity for sharing research expertise and networking. The programme, ‘British Council Researcher Links’ provides opportunities for early career researchers from the UK and internationally to interact, learn from each other and explore opportunities for building long-lasting research collaborations. During the workshop early career researchers will have the opportunity to present their research in the form of an oral presentation and discuss their ideas with established researchers from the UK and Malaysia. Although this is not an eligibility/selection criterion, we will encourage selected participants to submit an outline draft of their presentations before the workshop. There will be a focus on building up links for future collaborations and helping participants develop the research skills required to design and conduct impactful empirical research.
