Description
Digitised Customs Account records relating to the Port of Bristol Aug-Nov 1470
Transcription and translation, on an EXCEL spreadsheet, of an Exchequer ‘particular’ customers' account for Bristol for 18 August - 4 November 1470, based on TNA, E122/19/7. The spreadsheet is accompanied by a 800-word introduction (pdf), which discusses the account, the accountant and the relationship between them and the political disruption brought about by the brief readeption of Henry VI in October. There is also some consideration of the extent to which the port's trade was affected by the political conflict.
