Testimonies contributed to the Quipu Project were recorded between 2013 and 2018, relating to the unconsented sterilizations in Peru between 1996 and 2000, during the presidency of Alberto Fujimori, and their health, wellbeing, legal and political consequences. Testimonies include discussion of the ways in which sterilization was promoted and enacted, details of the health problems suffered by the victims, and observations on the activist campaign to secure legal justice or economic reparations. Testimonies were recorded through a free telephone line, using either a publicly-advertised freephone number, or guided at a workshop using mobile phones. 200 testimonies were collected and recorded. Not all the people who gave their testimonies disclosed their place of residence. Testimonies came from places including Huancabamba in Piura, Cuzco, Ayacucho, Lima and Iquitos. Testimonies were recorded in Spanish, Shipibo and Quechua. The length of testimony varies from 1 minute to over 12 minutes. Transcriptions of all testimonies are included, and translations into English and Spanish where appropriate.

El archivo contiene testimonios que fueron contribuidos al Proyecto Quipu, grabados entre 2013 y 2018, que tratan de las esterilizaciones forzadas en el Perú entre 1996 y 2000, durante la presidencia de Alberto Fujimori y sus consecuencias en temas de salud, bienestar, justicia y política. Los testimonios incluyen discusiones de las maneras en que se promocionaba y se llevaba a cabo las esterilizaciones, detalles de los problemas de salud que sufrían las víctimas, y observaciones sobre la campana para conseguir justicia legal e económica. Se grabaron los testimonios a través de una línea de teléfono gratuita de manera independiente, o en talleres utilizando celulares. Se grabaron 200 testimonios. No todas las personas dijeron su lugar de residencia. Hubo testimonios de Huancabamba, Piura, Cuzco, Ayacucho, Lima y Iquitos. Se grabaron testimonios en castellano, shipibo y quechua. Los testimonios tienen una duración entre un minuto hasta más de doce minutos. Se incluye en el archivo transcripciones de todos los testimonios, y traducciones al castellano y ingles cuando las haya.
