This study investigated the effects of alcohol consumption on emotional face processing in social alcohol drinkers selected to be high or low in trait aggression. Emotion recognition of six emotions (happy, sad, angry, disgust, surprise and fear) was measured using a six-alternative forced choice (6AFC) task. Bias in the interpretation of ambiguous emotional expressions was measured using a two-alternative forced choice (2AFC) tasks presenting angry-happy and happy-sad emotional morphs. The study was pre-registered on the Open Science Framework (https://osf.io/w4stb/).
