Description
This triangulation study examined whether there was evidence of causal effects of loneliness and social isolation on a range of general health, physical health and mental health and wellbeing outcomes. We conducted observational, sibling design, one-sample and two-sample Mendelian randomisation (MR) analyses using publicly available GWAS data and data from UK Biobank. The analysis plan for this study was pre-registered (https://osf.io/gwpny).
