Centre for Academic Mental Health

Organisation profile

Organisation profile

The Centre brings together researchers working on mental health, addiction and suicide research within the School of Social and Community Medicine.

We have an internationally recognised research programme funded by the MRC, ESRC, NIHR, Wellcome Trust and other medical research charities. We are multidisciplinary and the researchers in the centre include psychiatrists, epidemiologists, GPs, public health physicians, statisticians, psychologists and social scientists. Our research is primarily concerned with population health issues in relation to mental healthaddiction and suicide. However we are also interested in more experimental research and its application to the problems. Our research relates to two University research themes: Neuroscience  and Population Health.
