Supported by a wide range of funders such as the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust and the NHS, faculty researchers have been at the forefront of many treatments, discoveries and healthcare programmes which are now in use around the globe.

With exceptional results in clinical medicine, and public health, health services and primary care, our world-leading research was recognised as having the highest research impact in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), as measured by Times Higher Education.
