Research interests
I am curious about the real-world safety and effectiveness of medications, especially in vulnerable populations (given that they are often omitted from RCTs). My current research interests are in understanding the impact of polypharmacy and combination use of antidepressants, antipsychotics and benzodiazepines on falls and fractures risks in older adults. I aim to do this by triangulating evidence from different causal inference study designs that rely on different assumptions and have differing strengths and limitations: this includes applying various observational study designs and genetic approaches. Through my research, I hope to improve geriatric and psychiatric care in patients and help provide patients with informed choices about their medications.
