Personal profile
Research interests
I am a theologian and philosopher specialising in ethics, philosophical theology and interdisciplinary engagement with the sciences. My work focuses on moral character and agency. My goal is to improve our understanding of ourselves as moral creatures – who we are, what we do and why.
I want to understand what acting morally really involves; why we make the choices (and mistakes) we do; and how we become the people we are. My expertise is in ethics and philosophical theology, but my work connects with a lot of other fields, especially developing technologies, evolutionary anthropology and psychology.
You can read more about my history and research below, or check out my publications.
