Personal profile

Research interests

I have a long-standing interest in the integration of services, particularly how agencies and professionals work together. The work has been conducted within and across the social care, health and housing sectors, in partnership with non-academic collaborators. My work has focused on the structures and process of joint working between agencies; the impact on outcomes for those drawing on support and organisations and, the role of professions and professional boundaries.   In recent years the focus of my research has been on the provision of social care services, particularly for older adults.  Recent studies have explored collective day care for older adults as a means to consider its current and potential role in Integrated Care Systems, as well as considering the role of volunteers in the provision of social care support.
