Research interests

There is something beautiful about understanding how organisms grow and pattern to create the many, varied, complex forms that we see around us. Plants in particular intrigue me because of the plasticity in their development.

I am interested the fundamental cellular processes that contribute to plant morphogenesis. During my PhD I studied the formation of airspaces between leaf cells, focussing in particular on the contribution of the cell wall. My current postdoctoral research aims to identify molecular components that mediate interactions between subcellular organelles, and to develop innovative tools for monitoring such interactions.
