Personal profile

Research interests

I am an interdisciplinary researcher developing cross-cutting work on responsible, ethical and inclusive innovation at REPHRAIN. My research sits at the intersection of science and technology studies (STS) and innovation studies. I investigate questions of power, justice, responsibility and ethics of data-driven innovation. I focus in particular on smart technologies, pervasive sensing infrastructures and digital transformation narratives and their interplay with increased surveillance and datafication of human activity. I have a longstanding interest in advancing interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaborations with engineers and computer scientists, and across academia, industry and civil society. As such, I have participated in multi-stakeholder, international projects on responsible innovation of smart infrastructure and find myself continuously engaging in initiatives for digital/technical awareness, skills and empowerment. I have a technical background in electronics engineering and studies in technology and innovation management. Prior to academia, I led innovation and technology transfer programmes in the public sector as well as the implementation of large-scale telecommunications infrastructure.
