Research interests

Andrew is an interdisciplinary cyber security scholar, with research interests across computer science, geography, international relations, and beyond. His interests cover the role of computational and algorithmic agency, the analysis and detection of malware, offensive cyber operations, (post)colonial understandings of secuirty, and how people come to work with and co-curate software.

Andrew has several specialisms including:

  • The role of malware in international affairs.
  • How (machine learning) algorithms affect various parts of cyber security, including privacy and ethics.
  • Qualitative research methods for cyber security.
  • The role of offensive machine learning in emergent military practices.
