Personal profile

Research interests

I am an education researcher, whose work is focused on teacher learning and pedagogy within multilingual education systems. I am driven by a vision for secondary schools to be sites of scientific inquiry that draws on indigenous knowledge as well as conventional school science. My funded research is conducted in partnership with researchers and teacher educators in East Africa. Previous research has created multilingual teaching and learning materials and introduced language supportive approaches into teacher education.

I welcome PhD applications that draw on decolonial, sustainability and social justice perspectives to research issues of pedagogy, curriculum and teacher identity. If you think I may be a good match for your proposed study, then explore this further by taking a look at my recent publications.
