Research interests

Angelique Retief is a Doctoral student in the School for Policy Studies. She is interested in indigenous approaches to welfare and development. Her PhD research, which is theoretically grounded in an ubuntu-based capabilities approach, investigates the role of social enterprises in the provision of sustainable housing in townships in Cape Town, South Africa.
