Personal profile

Research interests

Part-time PhD Student (started September 2020) focussed on IoT device identification / security. PhD research looks into improving the granularity of IoT device identification on networks, i.e. down to software/version level from passive network traffic analysis to inform users and improve network security.

Personal interest in further understanding network protocols and the information they can contain, and how machine learning can be used with these protocols as one way to solve the IoT device identification problem.

Alongside studying part-time I am a full-time hybrid software developer / security researcher.
