Research interests

Caitlin Sturrock is a PhD candidate at the University of Bristol, generously funded by the University of Bristol Research Scholarship with the Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Her thesis, entitled 'Disabling the Enlightenment', explores depictions of female sensory disability in libertine works between 1780 and 1800. 

Prior to beginning her doctoral study, she completed a BA in Modern Languages and Cultures (French and Italian) at Durham University and a MSt in Modern Languages (French) at the University of Oxford. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Caitlin is currently a postgraduate rep for the Modern Humanities Research Association and an editor of their Working Papers in the Humanities.
