Research interests

My research sits at the intersections of maritime border studies, infrastructure, and the anthropology of futures. I am particularly interested in how people make their lives and futures through ‘hidden’ and ‘yet-to-be-built’ cross-regional infrastructures in contested archipelagic borderlands. Currently, I am exploring these enquiries through the sites of the Kinmen–Xiamen Bay Bridge complex and the submarine fibre-optic cables across the Taiwan Strait.
