Chinyere’s research work seeks to explore social, environmental and governance issues.

Her current research draws attention to social justice, opportunities and equality in the workplace and society. She focuses on the connection between accounting, work and individuals in society. In line with her research area, she and her colleagues made submissions to a parliamentary enquiry on disabled persons. One of such submissions has been cited in the government report for 2026. 

Her research on the environment has primarily examined environmental problems. Her past work has focused on corporate governance structures and actors.

Her research has been published in international journals such as: Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and the Accounting Forum journal. She served as Associate Editor on the Accounting Forum board between 2014-2018. She has reviewed for several journals including Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management, Accounting and Business research.
