Research interests

My research interests are focused on the impact climate change has had on extreme weather events in recent decades and climate model projections up until the end of the 21st century. Currently, I am investigating extreme heat events in Africa, aiming to quantify and provide robust evidence of changes to heatwaves in recent decades and examine the drivers of these observed changes. This project aims to improve our confidence in the projections that climate models produce and inform heatwaves forecasting tools on a local scale.

Other research interests include the: surface hydrology of the Antarctic Ice Sheet; albedo of the Greenland Ice Sheet; and the hydrology of debris covered mountain glaciers.

I aim to develop my research skills throughout my Master’s by Research project at the University of Bristol and through future PhD study, to help answer key uncertainties found within these research areas during a career in climate science research.
