Research interests

Caoimhe researches the relationship between law, science, and the state with a focus on intellectual property law. Her current research focuses on the relationship between industrialisation, property relations, and climate change, incorporating historical and empirical research methods.

Prior to joining the University of Bristol Law School, Caoimhe researched how intellectual property rights impact access to climate-friendly technologies in developing nations for the German Development Agency. She pursued a DPhil in Law at the University of Oxford, where she examined the integration of intellectual property law within climate-friendly industrial policies. During this time, she acted as a Tutor in Law at Merton College, University of Oxford (2022) and as an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University (2022). She has contributed to Politico (2022), and various calls for evidence, including the UK Intellectual Property Office call for views on artificial intelligence (2020 & 2021).
