Research interests
The management of electrical energy at all power levels by means of power electronics.
This includes battery-powered products as well as products powered from alternative energy sources eg human powered, photovoltaic (solar) sources.
Also the control of mains electricity (power supplies, variable speed drives, pulsed power sources etc).
Electrorefining and electrowinning of metals. Power supplies for industrial electrochemical processes.
Ultra-conductive wire composites (copper and carbon nanotubes).
Electrochemical grid-scale energy storage.
