Personal profile

Research interests

My PhD thesis focused on insect declines, storytelling and engagement, and questions of care and (in)attention when it comes to wildlife extinction. This research was supported by the SWW DTP; I defended my thesis January 2024.

I also hold an MA (by research) in Comparative Literary Studies from the University of Utrecht. Before moving to Bristol, I was a Cultuurfonds fellow working on climate change fiction and its effects on readers at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Munich, Germany.

During my PhD, I was co-convener for the seminar series Literary and Visual Landscapes and the postgraduate officer for the Centre for Environmental Humanities. I also taught on the units Critical Issues (English), Sustainable Development (Bristol futures), and Critical Political Ecologies of Extraction and Conservation (human geography).
