My PhD research focuses on insect declines, storytelling and engagement, and questions of care and (in)attention when it comes to wildlife extinction. This project is supported by the SWW DTP.
I hold an MA (by research) in Comparative Literary Studies from the University of Utrecht. Before moving to Bristol, I was a Cultuurfonds fellow working on climate change fiction and its effects on readers at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Munich, Germany.
I am co-convener for the seminar series Literary and Visual Landscapes and the postgraduate officer for the Centre for Environmental Humanities.
During my time at Bristol, I have taught on the units Critical Issues (English), Sustainable Development (Bristol futures), and Critical Political Ecologies of Extraction and Conservation (human geography).
