Research interests

I am a mathematical modeller with a background in biological sciences. I am particularly interested in epidemiology (animal, plant or human), economics and behaviour.

I am currently working on epidemiological and economic models to support treatment decisions for psoroptic mange (sheep scab) and species distribution models of ticks and fleas in the UK. Some of my past research has involved investigating the effectiveness of essential oils against the root-knot nematode, discussing the costs of culicoides-borne arboviral diseases and carrying out risk mapping for avian influenza (the last two projects mentioned were undertaken during my PhD internship with DEFRA). I have also spent some time working with a NHS Commissioning Support Unit and Public Health England.
