Research interests

Dr Esther Kang is a Lecturer in Marketing within the Marketing and Consumption group at the University of Bristol Business School. Her research interests include consumer learning, memory, mental simulation, information search/processing, and information overload. Substantively, she investigates consumer psychology and behaviour related to background music, charity campaigns, food imagery, social media, search engine inquiry, and technological experience.

 

Prior to joining the University of Bristol, Esther worked as an Assistant Professor of Consumer Psychology and Behaviour at the University of Cologne, Germany. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing, with a focus on Consumer Behaviour, and a minor in Social Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She gained an MA in Marketing and a BS in Biology, with a Minor in Psychology from Ewha Womans University in South Korea.

 

Esther is a classically trained singer. She loves listening to classical music and frequently performs as a soloist or choir member in churches. She also enjoys strolling through the streets and visiting museums in her spare time.
