My ESRC funded research is looking into the potential role of trauma-informed yoga in the healing process of women who experienced Domestic Violence and Abuse. I am specifically interested in how mind-body practices may provide an alternative healing modality for survivors who are located at the intersection of multiple discriminations. My research is informed by Embodied Inquiry and uses embodied methods such body-mapping storytelling. I am interested in Post-humanist approaches to embodiment, and the agency of the corporeal in knowledge production.
I am a seminar leader for the Gender-based Violence Unit; my teaching is inspired by the work of bell hooks and I am specifically interested in the use of trauma-informed pedagogies. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
