Personal profile

Research interests

My research interests centre around visual perception and attentional processes. More recently I  am also interested in lightness perception, software programming and in the psychobiology of visual perception. In the past, I have also investigated non-native and second-language speech perception and discrimination.
My main research activity investigates the reflexive attentional shift phenomenon (RAS) and more in particular the “altercentric intrusion phenomenon”. It aims to clarify whether this phenomenon is modulated by domain-general processes or by domain-specific (socially specialized) processes. I employ behavioural measures. Whilst in my main research I employ mostly behavioural measures, I have also used Eye Tracking and EEG.
