My research primarily focuses on visual perception and attentional processes. I have recently developed a keen interest in exploring lightness perception and the psychobiology of visual perception. In addition, I have previously conducted investigations into non-native and second-language speech perception and discrimination.
One of the key areas of my research centers around the reflexive attentional shift phenomenon, specifically known as the "altercentric intrusion phenomenon." The objective of this project is to determine whether this phenomenon is influenced by domain-general processes or domain-specific (socially specialized) processes. Through this research, I aim to provide a comprehensive model that can explain the existing inconsistencies in the literature.
In my research, I employ a diverse range of tasks and measures, ranging from simple behavioral measures to more advanced techniques such as Eye Tracking and EEG. Over the years, I have also developed an interest in software programming and advanced statistical techniques.
