Personal profile
Research interests
I'm interested in how children engage with their fictional worlds in book form, live performance and digital media. Through my practice-based participatory research with children, I form teams of creative industry and educational professionals to build immersive story worlds that blend reading, immersive theatre, gaming and digital storytelling, and which invite children to co-create the experience in tandem with adult practitioners. This allows children to generate new research perspectives from within their first aesthetic engagement with a story in a way they find motivating.
