Personal profile

Research interests

I am a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy, supervised by Prof James Ladyman and Dr Karim Thebault, specialising in the Philosophy of Physics. I recently completed a Research Masters (MPhil) here in Bristol and studied my Integrated Masters (MPhysPhil) in Physics and Philosophy at the University of Oxford.

I am pimarily interested in the Philosophy of Physics and related areas such as the Philosophy of Science and the Foundations of Physics. My PhD project is the Philosophy of the Standard Model of Particle Physics, exploring the specific phenomena of the Standard Model, rather than just its mathematical framework. This will begin with research into Neutrino Mixing and Neutral Meson Mixing, which are well-understood physically and empirically well-grounded, but have been under-examined philosophically.

In my MPhil, I undertook a definitive and comprehensive analysis of the Boltzmann Brain Problem, allowing me to argue that we are almost certainly not Boltzmann Brains. My integrated masters thesis investigated the role and truth of the Action-Reaction Principle, as well as its implications for de Broglie-Bohm Theories such as Bohmian Mechanics.

Outside of research, I am also deeply interested in Outreach and Widening Participation in and to Higher Education, particularly for under-represented groups and subjects.
