Personal profile

Research interests

I am currently investigating risk at different time points in the lifecourse using the application of the principles of Mendelian Randomisation as well as more traditional observational epidemiological methods. Through this research, I am inspired to identify important translatable messages that have the potential to impact evidence-driven social policy. Prior to beginning my PhD, I completed a part-time MSc in Epidemiology (Distinction) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine whilst working as a Project Manager and Researcher in their Departments of Disease Control and Infectious Disease Epidemiology. There, my research focused on health equity, assessing the relationship between social factors indicative of socioeconomic position and adverse outcomes following pre- and postnatal exposure to vector-borne diseases, predominately in the Latin American context. I have spent a significant amount of time working in Brazil, India, and Vietnam. My early academic background lies in anthropology and previous work experience in international development.
