I am currently looking into how fish communicate with each other using their different senses. Having worked on alarm calling behaviour in coral reef fish, I now explore the way in which different fish species (from clownfish to manta rays) communicate under the pressure of changing marine environments. This is put into the context of the risk of predation. It is a new area of research into how they use and navigate their acoustic, visual and chemical environment underwater. With the changing environmental context throughout the oceans, it is interesting to try and understand more of how marine life communicates, how this might be affected and what possible solutions there may be.
